About Ram Radio

The New Crew. Mike Litos joins Robby on all RamRadio broadcasts beginning this season.

No matter where you are, the Rams are always within reach, or at least earshot. That’s right. Each one of VCU’s game is broadcast live at 107.3 FM in Richmond or on www. VCUathletics.com.

The Voices
For the first time in five years RamRadio will have a new broadcast team.  While Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs Robby Robinson enters his fifth season with the Black & Gold, he welcomes a new partner as the color analyst in Mike Litos.  Litos is widely known throughout college basketball circles as one of the most thoughtful commentators on the sport.

Robinson joined VCU on August 20, 2008 and is in charge of sponsorship sales within the athletic department, radio advertising programs, game day programs and much much more. Prior to his tenure with VCU, Robinson spent eight years as the basketball and football play-by-play voice of The Citadel in Charleston, S.C. Robinson also served as the general sales manager for Kirkman Broadcasting. During his tenure, Robinson won four Advertising ADDY awards for commercial production, as well as an Edward R. Murrow Award for a radio feature on Marc Buoniconti. From 1999-2000, Robinson was an account executive and associate director of broadcasting for the Sun Devil Sports Network in Tempe, Ariz., where he hosted the Arizona State football pregame and postgame football broadcasts.

Litos, a frequent contributor to RamRadio’s pregame show over the past ten years, is known to most VCU fans as the editor of the widely read CAAHoops.com blog.

His book Cinderella: Inside The Rise of the MidMajor in College Basketball  documented

Welcome to RamRadio, Mike Litos.

George Mason’s historical run to the Final Four in the 2006 NCAA Basketball Tournament.

But make no mistake, Litos is a die hard VCU Rams fan.  He can accurately reflect on games from the Coliseum, to the Siegel Center and points in between.  Not only will Litos be part of the RamRadio broadcast team, but he will also serve as a columnist for VCU Athletics, bringing his creative writing style to www.vcuatheltics.com as well as other VCU Publications.

For home games, VCU fans are treated to the vocal stylings of Richmond’s SportsRadio 910’s Wes McElroy, the host of RamRadio’s pregame and halftime shows.  For each game, Wes sits with a special guest, gives his own commentary on the game and goes over Out of Town Scores.
